Rainbow Bridge

With so many horses and ponies, there will always be

those whose time on earth has come to an end.

Our Rainbow Bridge horses are still with us in our memories and in our hearts. They have their own special place here too, and you can read their meaning to us in the words of one of our volunteers who had a particular bond with that horse.

Abbey

Abbey was a 15hh dark bay mare born in 1990. She worked most of her life in a riding school but was sold on at 13 to a
family who she stayed with until 2008, when she came to Shy Lowen. A very sweet natured horse, her riding school past made her a bombproof riding horse.

Angel is with the Angels.

Annie was a 15.1hh black mare, and her year of birth was estimated to be 1987.

A very handsome and unusual 16hh Appaloosa gelding, born in 2007.

Bazil was a 12.2hh Welsh pony born 16th April 1994

Monty

It was a sad day on 20/10/2021 when Monty made his journey across Rainbow Bridge. A big beautiful gentle giant of a horse who had many happy years in his loan home where he competed in dressage in his later years after a show jumping and cross country for fun career. His foster mum said he was brave and got her out of trouble many times, the best view was between his ears. Run free now Monty surrounded by love.
